The truth value of some statements are independent to our beliefs
Whether one believes the God exists or not., some statements are consequentially true.
Think about:
“Thou shalt not steal”
“Thou shalt not kill”
They actually lead to curse. Not necessarily to supernatural curse.
They lead to very natural curse.
They lead to death.
So there is something real in Bach’s BWV 54
Stand firm against sin,
otherwise its poison seizes hold of you.
Do not let Satan blind you
for to desecrate the honour of God
meets with a curse, which leads to death.
